Jilin University Jurisprudence Research Center is
built on the foundation of Jilin University Jurisprudence
Research Institute through personnel reform, reorganization，and
organ adjustment, with a view of setting up a national
leading and internationally influential center for academic
research, talent training, academic exchanges, information
and consulting service in the realm of theoretical jurisprudence,
so as to make great contributions to the development of
Marxist Jurisprudence in China and the construction of
a socialist state ruled by law.
Jilin University Jurisprudence Research Institute, the
predecessor of Jilin University Jurisprudence Research
Center, was set up in 1988. Prof. Li Fang, the First bureau
chief and well-known jurist in our country, set two research
orientations for this institute: one is theoretical jurisprudence
study, and the other is comparative law study. The second
bureau chief, professor Zhang Wenxian, affirmed the significance
and function of the two orientations and made the continuance
thus far. In the aspect of theoretical jurisprudence research,
this institute had undertaken 20 projects by the end of
